The third book of Mathilde Madden's Silver Trilogy, THE SILVER CAGE, revisits lovers Iris and Alfie. Readers hoping for a happy ending won't be disappointed.
Iris has given up just about everything in order to search for and find her missing werewolf lover. The Divine Wolf, Divinia, has driven Alfie and Iris apart and has actually captured Alfie and is holding him prisoner. Alfie dreams of Iris and while Divinia knows how to arouse his body to use for her devious plans, she can't touch his mind where his memories of Iris remain.
Iris is searching for Alfie, her former lover, who is being held in thrall by Divinia, the Divine wolf, and forced to perform acts for her own selfish means. Iris knows that the only way to free Alfie is to kill Divinia but in order to do that, Iris will have to take a chance on killing all werewolves, and that includes her beloved Alfie.
THE SILVER CAGE is the third book of the Silver Trilogy. Alfie is a werewolf contained and unable to say "No" to his Divine Wolf. Wanting to give up but never actually doing so helps save his life. Iris is strong and loyal and I was impressed with the fact that she never gives up her search for Alfie.
THE SILVER CAGE is an interesting and erotic look at werewolves, magic, and mayhem. Lovers of shape shifters will enjoy this provocative novel.
